lyrics

Every room,
Every wall,
Devoid of life.
A constant reminder,
Of another time,
That's been left behind.
The images dance around my head,
Like beams of light,
But every shadow pulls me back,
Into these lonely nights.

And that's where you'll find me,
Isolated and terrified,
Of life.
With these expressionless days,
And these thought-consuming nights,
I can't tell if I'm alive.

Because I'm not used to this,
And I don't know how to be alone,
Anymore.
So maybe when the lights go down,
I can pretend that you're still here,
And we still call this home.

But I can't make this house a home,
On my own.

The distance between two hearts has grown,
And now I just don't know,
If I can keep mine going on its own.
And how will I know,
If it can keep the beat,
Without following your lead,
And getting up to speed?

I'm suddenly so aware,
Of every noise,
Every sound,
And it's oh so uninviting.
So for one last time,
This will be my voice,
Echoing through these empty halls,
To the tone of my heart igniting.

Because I'm not used to this,
And I don't know how to be alone,
Anymore.
So maybe when the lights go down,
I can pretend that you're still here,
And we still call this home.

But I can't make this house a home,
On my own.

But I'll patiently wait,
Until it's all okay,
No matter where I stay,
I just pray this ends the right way.
